Nieuwe inzichten in de mogelijke oorzaak
van CVS: nl door een variant van het human herpes virus-6 ( menselijk herpesvirus-6),
met name HHV-6A. En dit naar aanleiding van de internationale conferentie
over fatigue ( CVS?) op 9-11 februari LL in Japan.Bijna ieder mens hier
( 95%) heeft HHV-6, maar dan wel de B variant.
De A variant is veel zeldzamer en werd vroeger
al gelinkt aan cvs en MS. Volgens Dr. Ablashi, mede ontdekker van het virus,en
wetenschappelijk directeur van bovengenoemde foundation is er bij correct
testen een sterke associatie tussen HHV-6A en CVS.
Dr. Daniel Peterson uit Nevada, bevestigd dit enigsinds, als hij bij CVSers
met zware cognitieve problemen enOF met afwijkende MRI scans een spinaltap
deed ( ruggemergvocht punctie) hij in meer dan 20% actieve HHV-6 virusjes
vond, terwijl dit toch niet in 't bloed aanwijsbaar was.
Dus 't is niet omdat je niet vindt in 't bloed, dat het er niet is ( of
kan zijn).
De uitvoerend directeur van die foundation zegt dat hun doel is om zo snel
mogelijk een voldoende gevoelige test op de markt te krijgen. Alleszins
zal te bewijs geleverd op die conferentie
weer een belangrijke stap zijn in het overtuigen van dokters die nu nog
met het idee zitten dat CVS puur een psychiatrisch probleem is.
Op die conferentie was er heel wat bewijs gepresenteerd , welke het " CVS
word door infecties veroorzaakt" ondersteund.Dr. Takeshi Sairenji van de
Tottori Universiteit, liet bewijs zien dat 60% van CVS patiënten ( tegenover
11% bij controls) chronisch geactiveerde antivirale pathways
hadden.Hij suggereerde dat CVS mogelijk veroorzaakt wordt door interferron
van virale infecties zoals HHV-6,Epstein Barr virus en Borna virus.

There is accumulating evidence against herpesvirus being aetiolgical agents
of CFS. The apparent unusual serological response to herpesviruses in cfs
